Barrow County will soon be home to a new production line for Johns Manville, a fiberglass insulation manufacturer that has deep roots in the Barrow community.
“Barrow County is and will continue to be a great place to do business, and we are appreciative of the leadership at Johns Manville for their continued investment into our community. The company serves as a valuable business partner and, more importantly, a great neighbor to citizens,” said Pat Graham, Barrow County Chairman. “I would also like to extend my gratitude to County Manager Srikanth Yamala, who worked tirelessly to complete this deal during his time as Interim Economic Development Director.”
Construction on the line is expected to begin in early 2026, with the production line becoming fully operational in mid-2027.
“Johns Manville is thrilled to invest in the Barrow County community, recognizing the immense potential for growth and collaboration. We value our positive relationship with local leaders, whose support and ongoing partnership are important to JM’s ability to remain an employer of choice in the area,” said Greg Clarke, President of Insulation Systems with Johns Manville.
The new production line will create more than 30 jobs, including operators, maintenance technicians and warehouse employees. When this project is complete, JM will employ more than 350 people in Winder.
Johns Manville’s local plant is located at 713 Bankhead Highway in Winder.
